When something needs fixin, break it worse
Yes, I’ll admit that certain areas of our health care system need fixin. Issues such as pre-existing conditions, tort reform, and insurance fraud do need to be dealt with. But what President Obama and Congress just did was to make things much worse. They have walked over the rule of law and the constitution to ensure that taxes and debt are about to sky rocket. They will also bankrupt a ton of small businesses in the process. This will not be an economic boost as they say; it will be an economic disaster. They will also succeed in putting us in a situation were healthcare will eventually be rationed. People have guaranteed healthcare right now with or without insurance. Soon, we will all see limited access or even someone telling us we can’t get a certain treatment or surgery. Oh, they will make history as they have desired, but it will be as a historical disaster in the life of our country. I am convinced that the Liberal Democrats’ ultimate goal is to break down our country piece by piece until a complete change to socialism is inevitable.
In honor of this new saying and the new American way of doing things, I will now start doing things differently in my life as well. The next time my household water heater needs fixin, I will call in an accountant to fix it. I will ask him to use parts from an old dishwasher I have out back. I will then be making History.
The next time my car needs an oil change, I will take it to my wife’s hair dresser. I will have her change the oil with hair gel or shampoo. I will again be making history.
Then when our laptop is ill, I will take it down to my favorite auto mechanic for fixin. All will be well for sure, and I will have yet again made history.
Nancy Pelosi spent months pounding home the point of making history. The real point is that making history is not always a good thing. Benedict Arnold also made history, and yet he is held in contempt as well he should be. I am not yet ready to say Congress has committed treason as he did; but they have lied, ignored the rule of law, and spit on the constitution to get this monstrosity voted into law.
Some are already pointing to this fall and calling for us to “vote them out”. That will come in time, indeed. For now I am bracing and preparing to fight the next round of Constitution ripping legislation Reed, Pelosi, and Obama have in store for us. They will be trying to cram a jobs bill, immigration reform, and Cap and Trade (or in my words, cap and tax) down our throats between now and that Tuesday in November. So, we must keep up our guard and not wait for November.
This fight is about so much more than a bill or series of bills, it is about the foundation of this country. It is about Freedom. It is about a government of the people, for the people, and by the people. We must stop and realize that we are no longer talking about big government; we are talking about huge, out-of-control government. It is time to wake up, speak up, and STAND UP!
I have a lot more to say on the topic, and I will as time goes on. I have taken my time this week to calmly react to this sad occasion for our country. I am still a Proud American, and I will stand up for the principals and laws it was founded upon!
That’s my 2 cents! Apathy must die!

Random thoughts from the Knucklehead
•Today kids have iPod and Nintendo DSi. I had and eight track player and pong!
•Hey you with the Diet Coke and the large pizza all to your self, Really?
•I think I figured out why I like nature photography so much. My eyes are so bad, looking at the picture close up looks much better.
•Why do all drive through speakers make the cashier sound like the teacher from Peanuts?

•Why do things that are good for you have to taste so bad and things that make you fat and sick taste so good?
•Remember, Kate Gosselin is only doing dancing with the stars for her kids.
•Within ten years, no one will talk anymore. We will just all text or e-mail. Then we will truly see if my dad was right when he said “silence is golden”.
•Counter productivity: As I work doing productive tasks to try and help my company turn a profit, our government is trying to find more ways to take that profit away from both the company and me.
•Bojangles actually uses a Chicken recipe from heaven.
•OK, “underwhelmed” is apparently not a word, but I plan to make it one soon.
•My daughter is quite the singer. My prayer is the American Idol will be canceled before she is old enough. I don’t think it will be a problem.
•It is striking to me how government schools are failing both academically and monetarily when private schools are booming in both areas.
•I just saw Elton John on TV with pink glasses. I think he’s a book that you can judge by looking at the cover.

A Veterans Day Tribute
I thought I would share a letter I wrote to him while he was still alive on Veterans day 2005. Please remember our veterans and those currently serving today and say a prayer for them..
Dad,
It's Veterans day, and I thank you for your service to our great country. It's interesting though how sometimes we can allow ourselves to make war a distant, vague, and almost unreal concept. I mean sometimes we fail to acknowledge in our minds the reality of what has really gone on in the wars of our country's past. I've heard all of your stories, and from time to time I've paused to think how terrible and intense some of those moments must have been. But I still think I have fallen into a mode where war is just one of those things that happened. We allow ourselves to talk about war just like we talk about any other historical event. The reality is that the soldiers, sailors, airmen, etc. are real. They faced real pain, they saw horrifying things, they lost real friends, they spent unreal amounts of time away from home and loved ones.
So this morning, on my way to work in the silence of my little mini-van, I tried something different. I began to visualize some of the events of your war experience. I tried my best to put myself in your shoes. Now, I have never been in any situations even close to war, so it was not the easiest thing nor the most realistic I'm sure. However, as I began to think through and actually picture some of the things you have told me about, it began to actually seem real. I saw the massive convoys of ships. I saw the explosions, and gun fire. I saw sailors faces, and their pain. I was able to put myself on that deck when those Kamikaze planes were coming off of that little island. I tried to feel the intensity and the fear that must have been thick enough to cut with a knife. I was pulling for the gunners shooting at the planes, and praying with you for the planes to be downed. I felt the horror of the plane diving right towards your ship. I was able to picture the faces of the men that you pulled away from the fires. I felt the intensity of the flames and the seriousness of the mission to extinguish them.
As men you and your fellow crew-men were no different than me, but you chose to put yourself into a situation where your life was on the line. But there was no second guessing or no thoughts of turning back. I could, for once, see why you and many other veterans don't see yourselves as heroes. You were just doing your job, for YOUR country. It was do or certain death for your way of life and the country you loved. Two countries were threatening our people and our land, and this was not going to stand. The threat was real to everyone in the country. I think this is what our country is missing right now. The images on the TV of war are so frequent, but so watered down. People begin to think that it is "no big deal". It becomes as commonplace and as normal as a football game. It's sad really that several generations are missing the reality and the dedication of the men of World War II. If we could find a way to rekindle that fire in the hearts of the young men and the leaders of this country, there would be no stopping us. Even during the cold war, our country was united against the USSR. Now, we are threatened by one of the most venomous enemies possible in radical Islam. Thousands of men and women have died. Some died in New York, DC, and Pennsylvania in a horrid attack. Some died on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. For some reason, the threat and the loss of life is still not real to some. The soldiers now are the last of a dying breed. They understand your dedication. They get the real meaning of your sacrifice. They know what real fear, real danger is. The American people do not know. I pray that this changes, and we see a REAL resurgence of American Pride and a Resolve that does not depend on the opinions of the "global community".
In the mean time, I choose to make these men and women, these soldiers, real in my mind. I choose to teach my kids the reality of their grandfather's sacrifice. I choose to teach them how great our country really is. I will not be swayed from the reality that is war. It is a necessary evil. It is the reason we are still America. I thank you and every other American Serviceman for your service for me, my family, and the future of our great land.
Thank you!
Your son,
K.C.

Breathe
So, recently there have been lots of changes and crises to face. These encompass lots of different areas of life. The biggest change for me involved the death father who was also one of the greatest friends ever. He and I were extremely close. I have spent time helping my mom get through the adjustment and grief while dealing with my own. I had said to my wife several times during his two plus year illness that there was no way I would be able to handle loosing dad. But we got through it. Other big changes have involved finances and work. Things have had to tighten up significantly, and now I have additional duties at work. But, I’m getting through it.
The big thing for me, especially for those of you who know me well, is that I have actually been able to stay calm through all of this. I think this hardheaded guy is actually learning something through these trials. Don’t get me wrong I’m still having all the fun stress seems to bring along with it, but, it is different this time around. I’m still able to smile, laugh, and say “Oh well”. I was joking with some friends and asking if that means I’m Bi-polar. In reality it is 100 percent the compassion and comfort of our Heavenly Father.
2 Corinthians 1:3 says: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort”. I thank God regularly for that fact. I am trying harder to read the word and pray with more consistency, and man does that ever help.
The most comforting fact of all is that even though my life in an ever changing roller coaster, my savior Jesus never changes. One of my favorite verses is Hebrews 13:8 which says: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Wow, what a great truth. No matter what I am going through his love, comfort, compassion, and mercy is the same every day and every moment. I know that my dad is in heaven and that I will join him there some day as Jesus has promised.
Thank you Jesus for your love for me even when I take my eyes off of you and turn them on to me. Thank you Jesus for your ultimate comfort and compassion. Thank you Jesus for your forgiveness and payment for my sins. Thank you Jesus for your Word and the open line of communication you gave us with prayer. And thank you Jesus that you are with me every moment giving me the strength to carry on.
This stress is short term and from this world. The smile and the eternal comfort come from my Lord and Savior.
That knowledge is worth more than my 2 cents I usually give.

Takin' a break
I have been working exclusively on my Sports blog. It's more fun right now, and it seems to be read more widely. It is http://sportsfromthedome.blogspot.com .
I will be back to this one shortly though as there are several topics that have been boiling in my head recently. One of the next entries will likely be on gun control. I have also had a spiritual entry eating at me lately.
So, Stay tuned, and that's my 2 cents for now!

Obama Worship is scary!
I am trying to give the man a chance and be fair. Thus, not posting about him here for so long. He already did two scary things today. (http://tinyurl.com/ctdugk) He announced plans to shut GTMO in a year, and he overturned some of Mr. Bush's bans on Tax dollars for abortions and abortion counseling. Wow, what a way to start. It will just get more bizarre and radical from here.
Getting back to the Obama worship theme, here is a list I saw someone post on a message board today that is rather disturbing.
1. "... a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come
down upon you, you will experience an epiphany ... and you will suddenly realize
that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama" - Barack Obama Lebanon, New
Hampshire. January 7, 2008. http://www.villagevoice.com/2008-01-15/news/is-obama-s-constitution-strong-enough/
2. "Lord, we have again come to you in prayer, and you have heard our cries from
heaven, and you have sent us again from the state called Illinois, a man called
Barack to heal our land," said [Larry] Younginer, a 62-year-old retired
information systems worker at Coca Cola in Atlanta. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-obama-godsend_glantonnov29,0,7660180.story
3. "Many even see in Obama a messiah-like figure, a great soul, and some
affectionately call him Mahatma Obama." - Dinesh Sharma http://www.opednews.com/articles/Obama-s-Satyagraha--Or--Di-by-Dinesh-Sharma-080626-187.html
4. "Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you,
but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned
being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or
health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of
being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre
earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are
philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to
reason or emotion, but to the soul." - Mark Mortford, San Francisco Chronicle. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2008/06/06/notes060608.DTL
5. "Obama be thy name....thy will be done." - Recording Artist Makadem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PDehlPWsdQ&eurl=http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/
6. "This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet
began to heal." - Barack Obama. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/03/obamas-nomination-victory_n_105028.html
7. "Barack’s appeal is actually messianic, it’s something about his aura, his
spirit, his soul, that exudes enlightenment in the making. Oh, he’s not fully
enlightened, being that enlightenment is a process, not an event. But for
reasons I can’t fully articulate, he is one of those individuals who
communicates God-like energy (metaphorically speaking), in whom you can “feel”
God. Now, I’m using the term “God” to mean the loving, honest, just, and
inspiring part of the force behind it all. You may not believe something’s
behind it all, but I do. And I look for God constantly — that which exudes love,
integrity, humility, depth, kindness, generosity — and more ... supposedly. So,
Geraldine, I’m taking a special look at Barack Obama because he’s a lot closer
to a Jesus-type than the other candidates, by quite a bit. What if God decided
to incarnate as men preaching “hope and change.” And what if we didn’t recognize
them, because we are so dull, and let them slip away, not availing ourselves of
the opportunity to be led by God! Lord knows we’ve elected the anti-Christ often
enough. Excuse me, George." -Mark Davis, Charleston, IL. http://www.jg-tc.com/articles/2008/03/31/opinion/letters/doc47f0586a2ff1b441328510.txt
8. "I listened to that endorsement and Barack's speech afterwards and Obama, to
me, must be not just an ordinary human being but indeed an Advanced Soul" - Lynn
Sweet, Chicago Sun-Times. http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/03/sweet_richardson_in_endorsing.html#comments
9. "He's our product out of the all-knowing quantum field of intelligence" - Eve
Konstantine, Washington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/eve-konstantine/the-obama-vibe_b_85143.html
10. "There’s something else going on. I think that Obama, his election to the
Senate, was divinely ordered. . . . I know that that was God’s plan." - Janny
Scott, NY Times http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/09/us/politics/09obama.html?_r=1&pagewanted=print
11. "It will change everything. ... You'll have to measure time by `Before
Obama' and `After Obama'....Everything's going to be affected by this seismic
change in the universe." -Spike Lee 12. "He won’t just heal our city-states and
souls. He won’t just bring the Heavenly Kingdom — dreamt of in both Platonism
and Christianity — to earth. He will heal the earth itself." - Mark Tillman,
Philosophy lecturer, Catholic University of America. http://www.freeliberal.com/archives/003418.html 13. "[Obama's
election} is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible
to chronicle its significance.” - Jesse Jackson, Jr. http://dyn.politico.com/printstory.cfm?uuid=55D13D94-3048-5C12-00E851454E822F1E
14. " band plays “Obama-alujah” and thousands stand in the chill night ready to
be rapturous. . . ." - NY Times http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/24/us/politics/24obama.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin
15. "I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth." -Barack
Obama. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/10/08/obama.faith/That is my Frustrated 2.345 cents. Even so Lord Jesus come quickly!

My dad is with Jesus
Here is part of the text from my statement for his children at his memorial service (I'll post the full text later):
We are here to honor: Our Friend, Our Sergeant, Our Mentor, Our Pal, Our Teacher, Our Guide, Our Favorite Comedian, Our Ally, Our Confidant, Our honest guide, Our encourager, Our Rock, Our life wise sage, Our loving Dad!
Dad never met a stranger, ever. He had a way of disarming even the roughest, hardest person with a smile or funny comment. Drs or nurses would ask how he was feeling and he would always remark “Fingers and toes”. If you ever called the house, you were greeted with “This is me, is that you”. People were just drawn to him as if he was a magnet. You couldn’t resist his personality.
He served his country faithfully and loved it dearly, but he loved his Savior Jesus Christ much more. It was obvious to me even as a young child that God had taken a hold of his life and changed him forever.
I think Phil 3:13 and 14 describe how dad’s focus changed: “..Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
When this long running disease took a hold of him, he set in his mind that he would use it to impact family, friends, and anyone he met for Christ. He was such a positive influence on so many. Most of us would dread the constant Blood transfusions and needles, dad looked at it as an accomplishment. “I made it to 100 units” he would say. He chose to let the joy of Jesus shine through him in a difficult time instead of dwelling on the temporary suffering.
I have no doubt that my earthly father is walking the streets of gold and worshiping at the feet of our heavenly father.
To paraphrase 2 Timothy 4:7 he fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith.

Update on dad 1/6/09
After a rough night last night where things were beginning to look quite bleak, things have improved some over night. His lungs look a little better. He is still on the Ventilator. They are encouraged by that. They believe the issue of inflamation in his lungs is his body beginning to fight all of the blood transfusions he has had. Pretty much every infection or virus has been ruled out. The only thing they can do is keep him going, get him to rest, and wait. His heart has shown some things that have concerned the Drs but is settled down for now and doing better.
He has been responsive Today as they ease off some of the drugs. He wants to talk and tell us something, so we have to lay low so he will not get too worked up. He does know we are there and will nod to answer some questions.
I will update more later as I have time.

Prayer for my dad
Update 8am 1/5/09
Things have gone down hill with his breathing and they had to put him on a respirator about an hour ago. They are buying time hoping to find out what is causing these large pockets of inflamation in his lungs. They will now go in and take a sample from the lungs. The good news is he is finally resting after 3 days of zero sleep.Pray that they find what needs to be treated soon.

I Found My Happy Place

With the help of a friend at work today, I was able to get through the anger and frustration and find my Happy place. Just look at how Happy my Ronald Reagan picture made me.
I know that God is in control, but it isn't easy to accept something that I feel is so wrong for my country. I guess I have become too focused on this world, which is truly not my home. God please give me true focus on your kingdom and help me to accept and adapt to what the world puts into my current every day life.
Thanks to all of my friends who have reminded me today that God truly is in control. I found a passage that I love just now, and I will leave it for you to ponder as well.
Psalms 61:1-4
1 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.
4 I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah
All I have for you today is that .5 cent thought!
Why?
"Why, God, would you allow this wonderful country I love to elect a man who supports the killing of unborn children, who supports immoral behavior between people of the same sex, and who plans to tax away the blessings with which You have so bountifully blessed us? Why, God, did you not stop us from electing a man who will undo in four years (months?) all of the God-honoring legislation we have spent 40 years trying to get in place in this country?
Is it because we have tried to do it ourselves with our programs and our political action committees rather than by Your hand? Is it because we have tried to get morality in our laws rather than in our hearts? We have allowed our country to get into deep trouble, so what do we do now, God?"
I asked, and God answered:
"Do not fret because of evil-doers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers For they will wither quickly like the grass, And fade like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. And He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret, it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land. Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more; And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there. But the humble will inherit the landAnd will delight themselves in abundant prosperity."
[Psalm 37:1-11]
And I answered, "Dear God, Help me pay attention to (and do with my whole heart) the requirements that Your word has placed on me. And help me let You take care of the part that applies to others. Amen."
Thanks Doc T. for letting me borrow your your 2.5 cents on this one!

Fed up
- I do not know who my neighbors any more. I love that Bedford county went Republican huge, but without LU Lynchburg is Blue. I don't know my state anymore. Who are you people? I don't like you right now!
- I need to move back to NC. It looks like McCain is making a comeback there. Way to go NC.
- I am greatly disappointed with Pennsylvania. The man slapped you in the face, and you embraced him? What in the world are you thinking? It isn't even close.
- Ohio is going BO as well. Unreal.
- I want to move to Wyoming, where McCain is Slaughtering Obama.
- Locally, the AP called the 5th District Congressional race for Virgil Goode with 50% of the precincts reporting. Perriello was in the lead then, and now with 95% reporting he still leads by a hundred or so votes and the AP had to "UNCALL" the race as too close to call. Dummies! Now it appears Perrielo will win.
- For those who have voted to give us 4 years of BO socialism, I will be calling on you to pay my pending tax increase.
- Congratulations, you just voted yourself a huge tax increase.
- Mark my words, most BO voters will regret their vote within his first 6 months in office. We will be tested by other countries and terrorists just like Biden said.
- Whomever the Republican candidate is in 2012 it doesn't matter. They will win in a landslide. My only hope is that they can undo some of the damage BO will inflict on our country.
- Standby for the Fundamental change BO promised you, and then prepare yourself for the damage he does.
- I'm exhausted and the news is over, so now I get to go home and wonder what happened to my country.
That is my 2.1 cents! More tomorrow!
Exit Polls
Voting issue
UPDATE- After many phone calls and much persistence, the Amherst Country registrar overrode the system and re-registered her effective today. She is heading back over now to vote. Woo Hoo!
My Morning voting experience
I think it is great that they let you bring your kids with you. I saw many with their kiddos in tow. My son really liked seeing the whole process, and he liked my voting strategy too. He was a little surprised by the sample ballots though. The Republican sample ballot had all candidates printed the same, and had their candidates highlighted in yellow. The Democratic sample ballot had all the Democratic candidates printed in BOLD, and had all the others in a smaller font and printed so faintly that you could hardly read them. He didn't like this at all and felt it was deceptive. I guess I'm used to political manipulation.
In my district, I believe big turnout is great for McCain. It usually goes for Republicans easily. It was great to see people so excited to be a part of the process. So, please get out and VOTE! Again, nothing has been decided yet, and it can not be until after 10pm tonight. Don't believe the Hype. McCain will carry the day despite what the media will tell you early on.
What an exciting day, that is until I report to work in a little while and work until midnight. I love election day and my job. It should be an exciting day either way.
That is my 2.5 cents on my morning vote. Look back for lots more as the day rolls on!

Great read, with HOPE!
Read the article here: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1108/15193_Page2.html
Here are some clips from it:
MIAMI – A high-spirited Rick Davis late Sunday night made perhaps his final case for John McCain, arguing that the unusual number of still-remaining undecided voters could tip the election to the GOP and that whether those holdouts ultimately vote could prove decisive.
“If Barack Obama hasn’t closed the deal with them after two years in the campaign and a year as the nominee of their party, maybe they’re holding out for a good reason,” Davis told reporters en route to an after-midnight campaign rally here. “Now, maybe they just decided not to vote and they don’t want to say that because everyone they know is voting. So we’ll see. If we see the vote drop below 130 million, you’ll know they didn’t show up. If it goes over you’ll know they came out, [and] I think that’s a good chance for us to win.”
“The big hole we have I think is…our earned media coverage,” he said, referring to the campaign’s treatment in the press. “I don’t know what we could have done to do it differently, but it sucks. So I look back at that and say wow.”
That's my 2.5 cents. Get excited, get the word out, and get out and vote!
Last chance plea
I feel strongly that the choice is clear. Late last week, Mr. BO made it even more clear to me with his statement: "five days from now we will fundamentally change America". I don’t know about any of you, but I don’t want any politician from either side to “fundamentally change America”. Small change is always needed, but not changes to the very fabric of the constitution. Make no mistake; this is what BO means by that statement. He wants to fundamentally change us to a socialist society, and with a full Democratic House and Senate, he will.
Even though you will see six candidates for President on your ballot tomorrow, there are only two who are viable. So either way you will vote for either Obama or McCain. The way this election is tipping, a vote for anyone but McCain will turn out as a vote for Obama. There are those of us who are already solidly behind either McCain or Obama, but there are two other categories of folks who are still in play. There are a huge number of undecided or unsure folks out there. If you are in this area, please make an effort to inform your self today (I’d prefer you read my blog J), and please get out and vote. Then there are those of you who plan to vote for one of the fringe candidates. I was one of you several months ago. I was ready to just stay home because John McCain is not really my ideal candidate. However, as I do my due diligence and research, Mr. BO truly scares me. I can not allow my distaste for some of McCain’s policies to enable Obama to destroy our country. As I’ve said a million times, I would rather be on a slow moving sail boat to the left with Mr. McCain than on a huge jet racing boat to socialism with Mr. BO. Please understand that if you vote for anyone but McCain you are voting for Obama and helping to usher in his terrifying constitution damaging policies.
This election is not over yet no matter what the media and the corrupt pollsters try to tell you. Please don’t allow them to discourage you from voting. There are way to many undecided folks, and I believe many who plan to vote for BO will change their minds in the booth. And I still say that polls are way too erratic and slanted. Many Republicans are they type that refuse to tell the pollsters how they will vote, which is why most polls have more Democrats participating than Republicans. This slants things drastically. The only true poll is the one the whole of America will participate in tomorrow. I think turnout will be huge, and that part truly makes me proud to be am American.
So, do not give up and do not stay home and pout.
That’s my 2.5 cents. My prediction: McCain by 350,000 votes.

Are you a Mouse? (or Sheep would work too)
I found this picture on the web today and just had to share it. It is quite a terrific depiction of what is happening right now in this election. I'm all for change, but only if it is the right kind of change. Mr. BO does not offer any of the right kind of change. He offers only socialism, make no mistake.I have written at great length about how scary it is that people "follow" Mr. BO without even knowing exactly what or whom they are following. If you try to bring up substance to most BO supporters they cry foul. They call you nit picky and the become offended. It is as if they think the man is completely infallible. It is impossible to have a calm political discourse with them. They refuse to even consider any negative information about "their man". If some of the current accusations were proven without a doubt, they would still vote for him and not care in the least. There are many reasons they are like this. The most common is the Bush hatred. They want someone, anyone from the other party because they perceive Bush and everyone else in the GOP are exactly the same. Let me say once and for all, John McCain is NOT George W. Bush. Some are voting for BO because they want to be a part of "History" by voting for the first Black President. Some are wooed by his charm and flowery words. It doesn't seem to matter what their reason is though, it only matters that they keep on "following" without question.
This kind of blind adoration and lock-step mentality brings up images in my mind of Hitlers Germany, Mussolini's Italy, or Stalin's Russia. It is frightening to me to see people almost worshiping this man. After all, no matter what they or he believe, he is only a man. Our Government was set-up to be a Government of the people, for the people, and by the people. It was set-up to have checks and balances. Leaders were not to have the kind of sway that a dictator or a traditional king would have. I for one will not "follow" and Political or governmental leader without question. I will not be a "sheeple".
That's my 2.6 cents, and I'm going to walk out of step with the adoring throngs on election day.

WARNING! Please read carefully!
I wanted to send out an urgent warning to all of you for public service purposes. As you may be aware Mr. Obama has broken his campaign spending promises and is airing a thirty minute infomercial on all the major networks tonight. Not only is he proving that he has obvious un-American ideals by postponing the World Series by thirty minutes, but now we’ve learned that he may be attempting to hypnotize us with subliminal messages as well.
For years it has been a mystery what happened to what little objectivity the media still had left. We wondered why they follow every word BO says as if he were a god. We wondered why Hollywood and other celebrities fell prey to the same effect. Then when it had been assured for several years that Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic Nominee, we wondered what happened to change the tide. Why did Democratic voters suddenly flock to Mr. Obama with unwavering loyalty?
Well, now we have found the answers. All of the folks who now follow after Mr. Obama have fallen by actually listening intently to him speak. They watch him in the debates, at a stump speech, or on his commercials and begin to be drawn in. Drawn in by what? We are not quite sure how, but it appears that subliminal messages are being sent while he is speaking. It is a clear form of brain washing. How else would you explain those who not only support him but actually refer to themselves as an Obama follower? We have learned that tonight’s infomercial (which is pushing back the World Series – how un-American) is full of half-truths, positions that are really not his, and full of outright pandering. It will also contain promises which can’t possibly be kept, piles of psychological babbling, and hatred aimed right at the heart of Mainstream America. What other subliminal messages might the infomercial contain? We are not quite sure.
We ask that you avoid this infomercial and all further Obama communications until after Election Day. I feel that I am strong enough to deal with it as I have been unaffected by previous attempts. But, I for one will not allow myself to be tempted or drawn in as a follower of any politician. So I will be avoiding the infomercial at all costs. Please don’t take chances; this content is highly volatile and harmful. So please stay clear of your television sets between 8pm and 8:30pm eastern time tonight. He may even be sending mind altering signals through the airwaves using the vertical interval (Yay, I fit in some TV techie stuff). You have seen what Mr. Obama has done to those his messages have reached. Some media members even say that he sends a chill up their leg (Chris Matthews). So please, heed this warning for your own sake. Then tune in for the World Series game at 8:35pm. This will allow five minutes for the disruptive signals to dissipate.
That’s my 2.5 cents. Please exercise caution and don’t take chances! This warning was brought to you as an inspiration from my beautiful wife.
